Locations for Prom Pictures
A picture is worth a thousand words, or these days a thousand likes on the internet. When it comes to capturing the perfect picture before prom, you’ll want to take a look at our top 5 location picks for prom pictures!
1. Backyard
If you’re looking for something simple yet serene, choose a friend’s backyard. You can pose in front of their newly bloomed flowers in their garden making for a colorful background against the landscape
2. Park
My next location is a local park! There are many beautiful places to pose here. Whether it is in front of a fountain or a gazebo, a park is an excellent choice for prom pictures.
3. Local Landmark
Go to your town’s landmark for something historic! For example, if you live in the Philadelphia area you could go to the Rocky Steps out front of the art museum!
4. Bridge
My next location is on a bridge. This is an excellent option because the bridge gives the photo a rustic touch. You could get individual, couple, and group shots!
5. Lake
Lastly, you could go to a nearby lake and take pictures in front of the water. The water will give the photos an elegant natural look.

This weeks #MakeupMonday is all about how to properly clean makeup brushes! This is something I just sort of winged until I watched QVC and learned how to properly clean them! Here is everything I learned about cleaning makeup brushes!
Note: You can use any baby shampoo or gentle face cleanser. My pick is Purity by Philosophy because it is gentle and amazing at removing makeup!

This is an awesome restaurant that takes it to the next level! Inside there are tons of arcade games for you to play! This is a great place to hang out, grab a bite, have a few more laughs, and maybe win a few prizes!
- Bowling
Time to hit the lanes and see who is the champion bowler! Night bowling is an excellent choice for an after prom activity! Some bowling alley’s have glow bowl where they turn on neon lights and funky music!
- Late Diner Run
It’s also nice to have a low key night and just hit up a diner after prom. Get in some comfy clothes and go order some food. Enjoy the time with your friends and just sit back and have some good conversations!
- Movie Theater
Take off those stunning dresses and handsome suits and trade them for some comfy clothes. Go catch a late night movie at the theater! Movies run super late so it shouldn’t be a problem getting tickets to see one of your choice!
- Sleepover
Another option is to have a huge sleepover with all of your friends! Stay up all night chatting and gossiping about your prom night! Order in some pizza, pop in a movie, and play a few games! Nothing like a slumber party to close out your night!

Clarisse Designs Top Picks for the CMA Awards
This past weekend was the CMA awards! I may not be a huge country fan but I am a huge red carpet fan so you know I didn’t miss all the great fashion! The biggest trend that I was loving was the white and delicate lace trend!
(Yes, I was disappointed that Taylor Swift skipped the red carpet but I will have to survive the heart break)
Our top picks for the night are shown below!
My first pick would most definitely have to be Nick Jonas’ girlfriend Olivia Culpo! The color white just looks amazing on her and the structure of the gown is perfect! If you want to find a similar gown you can give Style 2634 a try!
My second favorite trend that I saw on the CMA red carpet was delicate lace. My favorite would have to be Kellie Pickler. Everything about this look is to die for! If you are loving this lace trend then you will love Style 4513. The lace detailing on this gown is just amazing!
Another favorite look I was absolutely drooling over was Kira Kazantsev. This look just screams old hollywood and it was just absolutely perfect. A great old hollywood dress we always love is Style 4507 in Champagne. A great new color for this dress is Sage! This dress just got even better because of this nice bright color!
Another style I was loving from the CMA red carpet was the ease and elegance of Tracy Rispan’s look. It was just so simple and flowly and fit her perfectly! A great elegant style that has the same flow as her dress is Style 2532.
Lastly, Reese Witherspoon has such a fun vibe how could I not include it?! A dress that is fun and spunky like hers is Style 2471. You will love this dress because the accessorizing options are endless!

Portion Control
Welcome back to another Workout Wednesday! I hope you tried some snacks that were few in calories and great in taste! I know I really enjoyed eating celery and guacamole for a snack that fixes my hunger. Working out and eating well go hand in hand. Both will play a part in your health success!
It is super important to pay attention to portion control. It is great to eat healthy foods, but eating too much can cause us to bloat, feel yucky, and stomach expansion.
This picture gives portions with the measurement of our hands. The calorie goal for active people looking to maintain their weight is about 2,000 calories a day.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! It should be filled with fruit. Starchy foods are allowed to be a high percentage in the morning. You need to be energized for your day and through being active you will burn it off. Veggies are not something that everyone loves to eat, but they are something we need a lot of in a healthy diet! Check our these meal portion plates.
Here is another portion control chart to use when you grab your plate and you question how much to put on it.
Keep portions in mind when you are filling up your plate. Restaurants are dangerous and give you so much more. Be careful and conscious of how much you are eating. Here are some tips too make sure you don’t over eat.
1. Put your fork down between each bite. It forces you to stop shoveling food in your mouth.
2. Chew slowly – the slower you eat, the more time you allow yourself to feel full.
3. Drink water between each bite. This makes you feel full faster.
4. Eat until your satisfied – not full
Once you’ve controlled your portions, you will notice that you get much fuller quicker. You’ll find that sense of hunger starts to disappear and you are only eating when you are actually hungry! Clarisse Designs Makeup Tips for How to Look Bright-eyed and Awake
For this #MakeupMonday I am going to share with you all the tips and tricks I have learned over the years to look bright eyed and awake! This is especially important for all those brides out there who are preparing for their big day! The last thing you want is to look tired from all the planning!
1. Use Benefit Cosmetics Puff Off
As I have mentioned before, I was born with puffs, bags and dark circles. They just so happen to run in my family and I’ve tried so many different things to either get rid of them or hid them. Puff off is something I came across about a month ago from Benefit Cosmetics. This product is what you’ve been looking for to take away those pesky puffs!
You take the product and put a dot on the inner corner of your eye and then spread it across your eye. You get an instant cooling sensation on your eye and within seconds you see a difference! Just so you know, I don’t have very large puffs so it may not work as well on a larger puff, but I read the reviews from other consumers and about 90% loved it and saw a difference!
2. Go With a Cream Based Concealer 1-2 Shades Lighter Than Your Skin
When applying your concealer you want a shade that is at least 1 shade lighter. You want this so you highlight the skin and draw the eye away from the dark circle. To make the eye draw attention away from your dark circles you want to make a triangle shape and draw the triangle all the way to the brow bone. My concealer of choice is Fakeup from Benefit!
Tip: Apply your coverup after you foundation
3. Apply a Highlighter Under Your Eye
To really get your eyes to look awake you want to apply a highlighter under you eye on top of your concealer! To apply you want to apply these in an upward motion from the inner eye all the way up to the brow bone. This will draw the eye up and away. Both of my picks are from Benefit called Watts Up and High Beam.
4. Use Waterproof Eyeliner in Bone (or Similar Shade) on the Lower Lash Line
If you use a light shade of eyeliner on the lower lash line. This formula is even formulated for the inner part of the lower lash line to make your eyes look wide awake! This is one of my best kept secrets! You can use the bone shade on the inner lower lash line and then a mocha/brown shade on the lower lash line to look wedding perfect! This perfect shade is from Laura Gellar.
5. Use Eye Illuminating Eyeshadow
My last tip for a bright eyed look for your special day is to use and eye illuminated eye shadow pallet. My personal favorite is also from Benefit called Peek a Bright Eyes. The sparkle in the eye shadow will help brighten your eyes. You also get a great contouring shade concealer that will make your eyes pop even more! To make your eyes shine even more apply the highlighter shade to the inner corner of your eye and then apply some to the lower last line. You can also apply a second coat of mascara to the middle of your lashes to make your eyes pop and look wide awake!

This past Sunday was the MTV Movie Awards and the fashion seen on the red carpet was stunning! Everyone showed off their fabulous style with vibrant colors, floral prints, fabulous whites, delicate laces and some funky minis! Here are a few of our standout ladies!
Katherine McNamara gets our fave look of the night! The color is just absolutely perfect with her skin tone and hair color! If you’re loving this color Jade as much as we are you can snag this with Style 2503!
Our next favorite look of the night was from Katie White! She looks absolutely stunning in this dress! It’s a great clean, classic look that will never go out of style! If you want a great white dress that will always be in style, you can try out Style 2634. This dress isn’t structured like Katie, but this look is clean and simple just like hers and has that great bright white!
One of my favorite trends for this Spring is the floral trend and Bailey de Young’s look is on point! Everything about this look is just perfect! If you’re loving this floral trend as much as I am you are going to want to try out Style 2531! This look is just perfect!
Another favorite trend that is big right now is delicate lace! I just love how well Zuri Hall is pulling this look together! If you want a great prom gown with some delicate lace on it you will just love Style 2630! This photo does not do this dress justice! You have to see it in person! And the key hole back is amazing!! You will be turning heads all night in this great gown!
Last but not least, Victoria Justice takes the cake with our last fave look of the night! She’s showing of her funky style in this sequin mini! We just love short dresses for this exact reason! The styling options for short minis is endless and you can really show off your style! Reverse the Roles: 5 Creative Ways How to Ask a Boy to Prom
Why wait around for the perfect guy to make a move when you know you can just ask him yourself? Gone are the days where the girl has to sit around waiting to be asked! Don’t let the fear of rejection hold you back; you’ll never know if you don’t take a chance. There is no need to be nervous! Confidence is key when asking that special someone. Stay calm, and remember, it’s just one person talking to another.

1. Asking the Athlete
