If you’re an award show fashion junkie like us, you take every red carpet pre-show VERY seriously.
To make this post happen we’ve recruited a happy Pharrell Willams and a not-so-happy Simon Cowell to help us out. Let the judging begin!
LUCY LIU in ZAC POSEN
Elegant and feminine. This is what a star looks like! Love the boning on the bodice and the placement of the rouching. Well done!
OCTAVIA SPENCER in TADASHI SHOJI
I mean WOW. She really does look stunning, this dress is perfect for Octavia’s figure and Tadashi is the perfect designer for her. A+!
MELISSA MCCARTHY
Sorry Melissa, we really do love you, but this dress is sloppy and extremely unflattering. Take a page out of Octavia’s book and maybe get Tadashi Shoji’s number while you’re at it. Hair and makeup, on the other hand, look stellar!
SARAH HYLAND in CHRISTIAN SIRIANO
YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSS!!!!! That is all.
AMANDA PEET
NNOOOOOOOOOO! NO. NO. JUST NO.
LENA DUNHAM
It’s an awful tribute to Rizzo from Greese on top and a pink fluffy Dr. Seuss creation on the bottom. Better luck next time, Lena.
GIULIANA RANCIC in GUSTAVO CADILE
Once we got over the hair and moved on to the dress (no, we are still not over G going bleach blonde) we could honestly say that she looks red hot in this picture perfect piece. Gorgeous and Emmy-appropiate. Go G!
KERRY WASHINGTON in PRADA
We were on the fence with this one, especially since Kerry looks AH-MAZING for having a baby just five months ago, but we ultimately decided that the only place orange and black work well together is Netflix.
JULIA ROBERTS in ELIE SAAB COUTURE
Head to toe…ahem– knee, perfection! Typically, going short is a no-no for the Emmy’s, but this Elie Saab piece looks as couture as it is! Julia, you’re the prettiest woman! (See what we did there?)
LENA HEADY in RUBIN SINGER
We do hope this Rubin Singer piece just doesn’t photograph well because Lena has such a cool and sexy look to her! It’s unflattering, ill-flitting, there’s too much fabric on the bottom…We’ve seen her look so much better.
JULIA LOUIS-DREYFUS in CAROLINA HERRERA
Another dress in the red family that killed it on the carpet! This was stunning to see on stage and she wears it so well. Best dressed nominee for sure!
~HONORABLE MENTION~
CAMILA ALVES and MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY in ZUHAIR MURAD and DOLCE&GABBANA
What a good looking pair. Both looks are styled to perfection and we heard Matthew chose the navy accented shoes himself! He’s so much more than just a pretty face… *swoon*
LAUREN PARSEKIAN and AARON PAUL in LORENA SARBU and PRADA
Breaking Bad sure went out with a bang, taking home six Emmy awards Monday night! Aaron Paul and his lovely wife Lauren couldn’t have looked more magnificent!
